The Marina at the Retreat Meadows is an 11-acre waterfront mix of residential, office, recreation, restaurant, and service businesses located at the confluence of the Connecticut and West Rivers in Brattleboro, Vermont. It is an easy walk to the quaint downtown. The complex of 6 income-producing buildings, a total of 66,000 sq. ft. of rented space, sits calmly amongst kayaking, birding, fishing, skating, and abundant wildlife. This community resource is an outdoor recreation and wildlife center that hosts the Southern Vt. West River Rail Trailhead, a community sculling boat program, and public guest docks. Developed over some 30 years by the current owner, the micro neighborhood has seen many upgrades, including, in 2012, the 1.5 million dollar rebuilding of one of Vermont's largest restaurants, The Marina. A 320-seat establishment, The Marina is an anchor tenant sitting directly on the water, boasting stunning views of the Retreat Meadows. Sunset often finds guests crowding the waterfront decks to catch the vibrant colors of the sky as they settle over the wetlands. In addition to the restaurant, the complex hosts offices, newly renovated residential apartments, a 40-boat slip marina, public kayak launch facilities, and various businesses that include such diverse enterprises as a spa, yoga/wellness center, radio station, and solar installation company. The complex currently has a total of 22 tenants.
